It’s been over a week since I’ve made a post and I can’t believe it’s been that long. It’s been crazy in our house the last week. We had a Friendsgiving/Friendsmas dinner party this past Saturday and It was so much fun! I’ve heard of Friendsgiving but not Friendmas (did I create this?!?!?) It’s perfect for being in the military in my opinion.
With the party going on, I had spent the past week house cleaning and BOY! when I say I’m grossed out by myself, it’s an understatement. You never realize how messy your house can get until you have a baby that doesn’t want to be put down. Add a german sheppard into the mix and it’s even worse! I was wiping down walls, cleaning windows, dusting sills and vacuuming everyday! If you can’t tell be the exclamation points, it was a big deal to me! LOL.
We also have a 6 month old now! It’s crazy to think that my little Mo Mo is 6 months, let alone that I’ve been retired for 4 months and spent every single day with her! I wouldn’t trade my life for anything, it is one that I never thought I’d enjoy, but one I can’t stand the idea of changing. I wouldn’t mind a little more income as I’m only getting VA disability, but thankfully, James is understanding of helping with cost of things.
To celebrate Morgan being 6 months old, we went to the Point Defiance Zoo and saw their Zoolights display. It was very cold when we went and because of crazy mom brain I forgot Morgan’s binky at home! We were so worried she would get inconsolable, but she was perfect! She did want to be held alot, but other than that she was great! I’m going to post some of the photos here.
A little tip or potential advice for couples where one has limited income, have them be the ones to cover the rent only or all the bills. James and I agreed that when I retired, I would cover the bills and he would cover the mortgage because my monthly payments do not cover it. With the money I have left over, I try to save it but sometimes Target calls my name or Mo Mo “needs” more clothes!
I’m going to try to keep up with the frequency I promise with this blog, but with this time of year, I just find myself wanting to sit on the couch with my little family and watch Judge Judy or holiday movies. I can’t wait to watch “A Christmas Story”, “How the Grinch stole Christmas” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys”. Those are my favorites! All I need now is a fluffy blanket, some Oreo Hot Cocoa or Starbucks Peppermint Mocha home mix and my hubby love, baby girl and puppy!
I’m sure I’ll pop in again, but in case I miss you, I hope you have a relaxing, calm and loving holiday season. Spend every second soaking in the love and know that even if you are not with family, that you are loved, you are perfect and you deserve the world. Happy last day of Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Merry Christmas!
